2016 Yamaha FZ6R 

The FZ6R has a special ambience that makes you feel comfortable the minute you swing a leg over the seat. It is a sports bike that does not make any earth shattering claims; just a bike that will leave you smiling after each and every ride. Perhaps you are just getting started in motorcycling or have been around long enough to recognize that fun is not always determined by engine size or horsepower. The fuel-injected engine in the FZ6R has been designed to meet the demands of today’s motorcyclist. The 600cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke inline 4-cylinder engine is ready to respond with smooth, linear performance when the rider twists the throttle. Maximum output is achieved at a spirited 10,000 rpm and maximum torque is obtained at 8,500 rpm. Bottom line: Its outstanding “torquey” low to mid rpm engine performance is just right for someone who enjoys commuting to work or school or riding the canyons on the weekends. Lightweight forged aluminum pistons are used. Because the aluminum alloy is heated and formed under pressure without having to melt it completely as in conventional casting techniques, the strength of the original metallurgic matrix of the aluminum is maintained. As a result, a forged piston is stronger than a cast one and can thus be designed for lighter weight, which contributes to a reduction in vibration. In fact, many riders will be surprised at how smooth this motor is. The 32-bit ECU controls the four-hole, two-direction, high-dynamic range type fuel injectors for superior injection control. By delivering the precise fuel-air mixture needed for conditions, the engine can deliver great power and fuel economy. Much like many of today’s high end sport bikes, the FZ6R has a 4-into-2-into-1 midship exhaust. Not only does it provide a throaty, yet comfortably quiet exhaust note, the system also includes 3-way catalytic converter technology to reduce exhaust emissions.
Adjustable Ergonomics the seat has separate front and rear sections, and the rider’s seat features an innovative height adjustment mechanism. The seat can be set 20mm higher for taller riders and the handlebar position can be adjusted 20mm forward by rotating the handlebar clamps to fine-tune rider comfort. The overall chassis rigidity has been designed to provide both excellent handling and all-day comfort. In order to further enhance the smoothness and comfort of the ride, the front-end dimensions a have been optimized, including a caster angle of 26° and trail of 103mm, contributing a bike that has great steering feeling, making the bike even more of a pleasure to ride. The front suspension has sturdy 41mm inner tubes, matched to a die cast aluminum upper triple clamp and forged-steel under bracket, providing superior cushioning performance and good front-end feel. Wheel travel is a generous 5.1 inches to help soak up those bumps in the road. The rear suspension contributes to mass centralization, and the mono-cross suspension provides excellent wheel travel, a full 5.1 inches. Superior road hugging performance has been achieved with optimally designed damping-force valves and oil channels. The FZ6R boasts hydraulic disc brakes front and rear—dual 298mm diameter discs up front, with a 245mm rear disc—with the entire system designed to offer great feel and superb braking ability. The FZ6R mounts tubeless radial tires on cast aluminum wheels that contribute to the machine’s agile handling. The meter panel gives the rider plenty of feedback, including a digital display speedometer, analog tachometer, odometer/tripmeter, fuel gauge, and water coolant gauge.

A rider in the market for a practical 600cc bike doesn’t have to compromise performance or style to get value. The FZ6R is a great combination of performance, handling, and exciting sport bike style, but also with a low seat height that’s both adjustable to fit a wider variety of riders and also narrower where it counts to make it even easier to put both feet on the ground.
The engine delivers smooth power just the way today’s rider needs it, providing brisk acceleration with plenty of torque that makes it a pleasure to get around town, with plenty in reserve for when you want more. The FZ6R is fuel injected and tuned for outstanding low- to mid-rpm engine performance.
Even if your primary goal is commuting to school or work, you want to be able to get out and have fun riding some twisty back roads. The diamond-shaped frame, made of high-tensile steel pipes using the engine as a structural member of the chassis, becomes the foundation for handling performance. Building on the success of this collaboration, Yamaha is now launching the first production motorcycle that lives and breathes the Faster Sons philosophy. The all-new XSR700 takes its place as the latest model to join the Sport Heritage range, a casual, retro styled street bike that pays tribute to the iconic Yamaha XS650, a pure masterpiece of Yamaha simplistic design that still inspires today.
The XSR700 makes a serious statement. Designed to take a timeless feel built on historical icons, matched with tomorrow’s technology for a pure, entertaining riding experience. With deep torque and a super agile chassis, it’s for those who appreciate heritage and love to ride. The cutting edge 689cc inline 2-cylinder engine features our special 'crossplane philosophy' enabling it to develop linear torque for outstanding acceleration. The retro styled XSR700 also benefits from a tight and lightweight chassis for outstanding agility and handling. The XSR700 takes the best of design from Yamaha’s history in homage to the past but is very much the motorcycle of tomorrow. The XSR700 is a feast for the senses; its style is enhanced with a number of high quality parts to complete its look. Riders can enjoy an authentic retro feeling with the two-texture leather seat unit sitting on an easily customizable bolt on rear sub-frame. An old school style headlight and fastening stay sets it off at the front, and an aluminium tank unit reminds the rider they’re sitting on a Faster Sons machine. With a wet weight of just 186kg the XSR700 is the first of its kind, a modern day entry-level icon to style up the riding life of both new and experienced riders. A period style speedometer sits between the wide tapered back handlebars, which offer a casual & upright riding position for its rider and a trick mesh cover on the side keeps all the high tech electronics under wraps. Use of quality metal materials such as aluminium on several components, including the front fender stay and radiator cover also work to complement the overall retro feel. A short stubby rear muffler provides the right soundtrack and Pirelli Phantom tyres front and rear not only look the part with an authentic pattern, but also do the job to keep the rider connected to the road. It’s not just in looks where the XSR700 delivers; the beating heart of the machine is Yamaha’s class leading 700cc inline 2-cylinder engine. Having powered several of Yamaha’s latest class leading motorcycles to huge success across Europe, the 700cc power plant was a natural choice for the XSR700. Built on the special ‘crossplane philosophy’ the perky motor kicks out a linear, deep torque for not just outstanding acceleration, but smiles in every gear. The uneven firing interval and 270-degree crank ensures a strong sensation of acceleration and outstanding traction, while maintaining continuous smooth & exciting power delivery till high rpm. Power is of course nothing without control and the XSR700 excels in the handling department with a compact, lightweight chassis for remarkable agility and rideability and a short 530mm swing arm for further control. This combination of engine and chassis ensures the XSR700 is not just the perfect ride for new motorcyclists with the added benefit of ABS as standard, but also a massive dose of fun for more experienced riders.
